Dancers Age 7 -18
Modern dance is considered to have developed as a rebellion of classical ballet in the early 20th century. Modern technique utilizes gravity, suspending & releasing, the use of parallel, the use of the back in contraction/spiraling/twisting, and limitless floor movements. Modern also explores more freedom of movement and encourages the dancer to use emotions and moods to design personal steps especially during improvisation.
Intermediate Modern is offered on Wednesdays from 6:30-7:30pm as a semester class.
Contemporary is offered at TDC for the advanced dancer. Contemporary is considered current and what is happening today giving the classically trained dancer intimate expressions of movement with sophistication.
Advanced Contemporary is offered on Mondays from 6:45-8pm on Mondays as a semester class.
