Fifteen years ago, Deborah Yarington decided to produce Nutcracker in a Nutshell
and chose Nutshell instead of the traditional show.   Growing up, she always loved dancing in the second act and believed a shorter, more family friendly length would
suit TDC dancers & the community.

In December of 2005, Deborah Yarington and Anna Hall then co-created the first Nutshell which became an instant classic.  They included children of all ages and experience and drew inspiration by who was in the show.  Nutshell fans were created.

Now, each season, Nutshell takes Tchaikovsky's timeless holiday classic and gives it
a new interpretation.  This show redefines itself year after year.  With innovative choreography and exciting characters, Nutshell gives every dancer the opportunity

to feel like a star.

In 2017, The Dance Center presented ALL CRACKED UP.  Ms. Anna Hall envisioned a
brand new Nutshell by writing an original story line, creating dynamic roles,
and had music changes that had the audience dancing in their seats.

Now it is 2020, and TDC is focusing on the best decisions given the current circumstances, so we are pausing Nutshell for a year.
